This series of portrait/environment drawings are a response to persistent environmental crises and the turbulence absorbed by people.  The individual renderings are reminiscent more of landscape than traditional portraiture.  While drawing these larger-than-life portraits, I continually pondered getting over the hill of a cheek to reach the bridge of a nose, or layering the foreshortened and successive hills of shoulder, clavicle, neck, and shoulder.  The curvilinear human forms are then interrupted by mechanical and environmental intrusions.

The individual drawing were created on Arches watercolor paper (22" x 30"), using pastel.  These works are available individually or as a grouping.
